The growth of a student academically depends not only on classroom teaching, but also on complementary knowledge gained through independent research and reading. For this reason students are encouraged to use the school Library/Media Center not only for class assignments but also for leisure time reading and enjoyment.
The Library/Media Center not only houses an excellent collection of books for research in the various disciplines, particularly history and literature but also subscribes to more than a dozen databases which are updated daily. These provide access to articles gathered from hundreds of magazine - many of them scholarly, scientific, historical and literary journasl - as well as from thousands of newspapers both domestic and foreign. These same databases include several encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs and a thesaurus
The library network links the 23 computers in the library and the computers throughout the building, thus making Internet access readily available. Furthermore, most of the databases we subscribe to can be accessed by Farrell students from their homes or from any computer which has Internet connections.
We are very proud of our Farrell Library/Media Center, because it provides the very latest technology along with the most current printed materials and books |
