Minnesota Twins Move On!
After 18 years each at Farrell our own Minnesota Twins are moving back to their home state. The opportunity to catch some walleye or muskellunge when ice fishing in one of the 12000 lakes, hiking through the coniferous forest region (covering two-fifths of the state) or just enjoying the glacier sculpted landscape "up north" will be a welcome change from the sirens, supermarket lines and recalcitrant students (and teachers) that they have been dealing with at Monsignor Farrell.
Although leaving this city they may still be reminded of time spent here as they drive along I-94 in Minneapolis/St. Paul passing by Brooklyn Park or Broadway. The probability, however, is that they are not the same as their namesakes! Living in their new surroundings of St. Cloud should not cause them to deal with the powerful natural force that forms a feature along the shoreline known as an "ice ridge" as the city is inland but beware of Fargo which is just down I-94 a piece!!
The state whose name is taken from the native american means "water that reflects the sky" and has the unique distinction that its waters flow outward in three directions: north to Hudson Bay in Canada, east to the Atlantic Ocean, and south to the Gulf of Mexico.
Sr. Elizabeth has been the school Librarian during her tenure at Farrell and she celebrated 50 years as a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls in 1999.
Sr. Judine has been Assistant Principal for Supervision and Scheduling together with Director of Guidance for several years.
All that is left for them to do now this summer, is climb aboard that paddle steamer, sail (paddle?) up/down the Mississippi and get lost shopping in the Mall of America!
Good Luck Sisters and Bon Voyage.
