SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
American Dream Scholarship offered by Commerce Bank is awarding $1000 scholarships to seniors who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and are either employed or actively involved in their community. For details pick up a brochure in the college office or go online to commerceonline.com/americandream. Application deadline is December 15, 2007.
The Catholic Student Scholarship is inviting eligible candidates to apply. You must have a minimum B average and a minimum combined SAT of 1050. You must submit the application by February 15, 2007 and file a complete FAFSA form by March 1, 2008. See the guidance office for forms.
Gates Millennium Scholarship offered to African American, Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American. Must be a citizen and have attained a minimum 3.3 GPA. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service and must meet the Pell Grant eligibility criteria. Applications must be postmarked by December 31, 2007 (paper applications). Contact the guidance office for further information.
The McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship award is offered to high school seniors who own and operate their own business while in high school. See the guidance office for more information.
Johnson & Wales University hosting its annual “Chef of the Year” competition. This year’s theme is “Healthy Heritage” and contestants must create an entrée or dessert using an original recipe which either incorporates their family heritage or has a strong ethnicity that appeals to them. Completed entries must be typed and postmarked or received via e-mail by March 3, 2008. Details available in the guidance office.
