Raphael: Sublime Poetry
All Farrell students are invited on a school trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the Raphael: Sublime Poetry exhibition on Friday, June 19th.
It is the first comprehensive exhibition on Raphael in the United States, bringing together more than 170 of the artist’s greatest masterpieces and rarely seen treasures to illuminate the brilliance of Raphael’s extraordinary creativity.
Dive into the artistic process of one of history’s most beloved and influential artists. A true titan of the Italian Renaissance, Raffaello di Giovanni Santi (1483–1520)—better known as Raphael—matched ambition with lyricism to create works with both intellectual heft and emotional depth, a necessary skill in the complex political landscape of Renaissance courts. Friday, June 19th. 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Cost
The cost of the trip will be $17 for a student ticket to The Met. Students must bring their Monsignor Farrell ID cards with them on the day of the trip to purchase tickets and verify their status as students. Students may wish to bring spending money for souvenirs, etc.
Transportation
Students must arrange for their own transportation to and from the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in St. George.
Staten Island Ferry to and from Manhattan and the subway to and from The Met.
Students should bring their school-issued OMNY cards for entry onto the subway.
At The Met
We will first tour the Raphael: Sublime Poetry exhibition. Then, students (time permitting) will have free time to explore other areas of interest in the museum before departure at around noon.
