School will be closed from 3/16 - 4/30

APRIL 3, 2020

Dear Farrell Families,

We want to communicate to you that in an abundance of caution and at the strong urging of public health officials, the Monsignor Farrell High School Administration has made the decision to continue with the suspension of on-campus classes until at least April 30, We will continue to keep you updated as things progress.

We ask for your continued patience, support, and cooperation during these unprecedented times. You have our commitment that we are fully dedicated to ensuring that your sons receive the education that they expect from Monsignor Farrell and are entitled to even under these very fluid circumstances. To that end, administration and faculty have been working very hard in producing our  “new norms and protocols” for the Microsoft Teams virtual learning system. We want to commend their versatility and adaptability. Please be sure to read and pay close attention to Assistant Principal for Academics Dan Fisher’s letter that includes some important clarifications in regards to timed assignments and testing.

Working closely with two of our partners - Yearbook Innovation and MSI, we will be incorporating enhancements to the virtual learning experience. Teachers will be able to upload and broadcast video instructions as they deem beneficial and necessary. Our faculty and our Guidance Department remain accessible to you and your sons should you need their assistance. Email should be your first option because your question, comment, or concern may be beneficial to a larger group. The goal is to get back to you in a timely fashion, depending on the volume of emails that we receive. We ask for your patience.

We also ask for your support in making sure that your sons exert discipline and a strong work ethic throughout this extended period, which is not a break or vacation.

We also ask that you help influence your sons to exhibit integrity in their work. A Faithful Man does the right thing because it is the right thing to do. Please discuss with your sons the importance of ethics and honesty. Their work should be their own and not cut and pasted plagiarism etc.

You all remain in our prayers. Please stay safe and healthy.

We will get through this together and be even stronger for it. Of that, we are certain!
