The Friends of Staten Island High School Football/Coaches have announced its 2nd annual All-Star team. Once again, the organization selected 25 All Stars from the 2018 season. The list includes 11 offensive players, 11 defensive players, two all-purpose players and one special teams player.
QB: Mike Regan
The senior made an impact as a passer and a runner. The 6-foot-5 signal-caller completed 81 of 146 pass attempts for 1,090 yards and 12 touchdown passes. In addition, he rushed 51 times for 434 yards and another four YD scores.
RB: Vin Wagner
Farrell The senior carried the ball 148 times for 1,128 yards, which was good enough for a 7.6 yards per carry average. Wagner also caught six passes for 113 yards (18.8 yards per catch) and four touchdowns, giving him a total of nine overall for 2018. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound running back was a Class AA, first-team all-state selection.
WR: Christian Tait
The junior led Staten Island with 57 catches for 774 yards. Tait, a two-year varsity player, averaged 13.6 yards per catch and finished 2018 with four TD catches. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound wide receiver was a Class AA, second-team all-state selection.
