What is the College Advantage Program?

The College Advantage Program at St. John’s provides qualifying high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to enroll concurrently in high school and credit-bearing St. John’s courses at a cost of $325 per course—a deep discount from regular undergraduate tuition rates.

Classes are taught at a student’s high school by St. John’s-approved teachers in areas of study that include English, fine arts, humanities, language, mathematics, science, and social sciences. The curriculum is approved concurrently with St. John’s faculty and the high school teacher.

Courses are offered for fall and spring terms. Participation in College Advantage does not guarantee acceptance to St. John’s University.

Student Benefits

  • Students earn St. John’s University credit while in high school
  • Participating students who enroll at St. John’s the semester after high school qualify for the $3,000 College Advantage Grant, which is renewable for up to four years of continuous, full-time, undergraduate study at St. John’s
  • Credit is often transferable to other institutions

Student Eligibility

Seniors must have a minimum 80 average in the five subjects (i.e., English, languages, mathematics, science, and social studies) and a combined minimum Math and Critical Reading SAT score of 1080 (1080 PSAT) or a minimum ACT of 21 OR a minimum 85 average in the five subjects without standardized test scores.
