Monsignor Farrell’s Nick Cafero “is the kid next door,” says Farrell principal Larry Musanti. He’s into all that audio and visual stuff and he helps us with our website and all technical stuff like that.”
The 18-year-old Great Kills resident is the editor of the Lion, a weekly digital journal of life at Farrell.
When he wasn’t overseeing the Lion staff, he was busy with his schoolwork, where he compiled a 96-plus average while accumulating 12 college credits.
During the pandemic, Cafero, who works at Wendy’s in Eltingville, helped feed some first responders, donating lunch to the borough’s 122 Police Precinct, in New Dorp.
Cafero and other Wendy’s employees prepared and donated more than 400 chicken nuggets, 50 crispy chicken sandwiches, 50 double stack cheeseburgers, and six cartons of French fries.
Cafero was also recently showcased in the St. Clare parish bulletin for his work as a Teaching the Christian Message (TCM) catechist is truly making a difference in the lives of his students.
