Hello, my name is Aidan Hynes and I am now a senior at Monsignor Farrell High School. At the end of last school year, I became one of the editors of The Lion. Mr. Tobacco and Mr. Guastavino asked me to take on this role again as the Editor-in-Chief, and I am extremely thankful for the opportunity. My decision to attend Farrell has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to presenting the best of what Farrell has to offer in my efforts as the editor.
I have been involved in a multitude of activities and other opportunities in my time here. I played on the football team and I am now the head Media Manager for Farrell Basketball, as I film games and scrimmages along with controlling the video board in the gym. Additionally, I have volunteered to work at our open house every year, whether it be as a tour guide or at the scholar's program table. I have also spoken to parents of incoming freshmen at our Freshmen Orientation in 2018. I have been a member of the FOSI committee for three years, and I will be an executive this year.
Now as I oversee The Lion and our new Social Media Groups, I look to, along with my fellow Farrell brothers, illuminate the many exciting things that occur in the Monsignor Farrell community. Be on the lookout for incredible stories about the students and faculty, as well as the accomplishments of our alumni!
ABOUT THE LION
The Lion is a weekly, student-created digital journal of life at Farrell.
Students who are members of The Lion meet weekly in Farrell's new Communications Center which is housed in the East Wing of the school. The Lion staff is responsible for creating each week's edition, which begins with a planning session on Monday. Students then conduct interviews, create articles, contribute artwork, take photos, and arrange all content in the Lion section of the school's website.
