2026 Student Government Candidate

I would like the opportunity to serve as a student government officer because I believe I can understand and represent different types of students that are in our school, and this is essentially the most important role of the job.

I am not someone who fits into a box or has one side to himself. This is so important when you want to be a leader.  I am in the scholars program, but I have testing accommodations, so even though I may take very advanced classes, I still struggle and can relate to students who have that situation.

In the sports I play, football and track, I am not the biggest athlete physically, and I am not the loudest person on the team, but I believe in hard work and dedication to make sure I earn my spot to play. These two characteristics, I believe, are what make me a good representation of the student body -  someone who keeps pushing forward and striving for the next level, even if I have obstacles in front of me, and someone who people can feel comfortable coming to because they can relate to me in some way.

Trade Organization Club

If I were to suggest something for Farrell to start, it would be to introduce a trade organization, club, or workshop skill session throughout the year.  In a world that is so competitive, Farrell definitely has a good handle on all the institutes: financial, medical, etc., but it would also be useful for men to experience/ learn about some type of trade.

Workshops on everyday electrical, automotive, or even CPR skills, which can earn certification, can be useful. Learning how to change a tire or how to fix a pipe are things that I think are important, especially for men today, regardless of their careers.  Not everyone has someone to teach them these skills at home, so it benefits the whole school community. These workshops may interest students who are more hands-on to feel included.

What is a Vir Fidelis?

Vir Fidelis, faithful man, is a great, catchy slogan for our school, but when we think about the words, it should mean how we strive to live. Faithful, trustworthy, and dedicated are all qualities that are important to be successful and find purpose in our lives, even after school is over.

It is being true and faithful to ourselves and doing the right thing even when nobody is watching. Having faith is also a large part of this phrase. We need to keep faith that if we continue to work hard, things will pay off, and have faith if they do not, that God has a bigger plan, so we should not give up.

I think even the word "man" is describing how we must stay strong because life is not always going to be easy, so we have to remember to stand together, to stand up for each other, and stand up for ourselves, for what we think is right.

Being a faithful man to our family, our faith, our friends, and our goals in life is an amazing road map to focus on for life's journey ahead.
