2023 Annual Appeal

"In these days as we celebrate the birth of the Christ child at Christmas, we remember the foundations of who we are. The gift of God's life in us. And for all of us who have the great blessing of being alumni of Monsignor Farell High School. That Foundation was strengthened by the way in which we learned to become the men God created us to be at 2900 Amboy Road."

- Bishop Edmund J. Whalen '76

"I am fortunate to have witnessed firsthand the legacy of Monsignor Farrell High School being built in the early days of this great school. On this giving Tuesday, as we launch our Annual Appeal, I ask for your support in helping us to continue to Strengthen The Legacy."

"From the minute I walked onto this campus as a freshman 22 years ago, Monsignor Farrell High School has been a second home to me and my family. I love this place! Monsignor Farrell is more than a school to me, it's a family ....... It’s my team! The students, coaches, faculty, administration, alumni, and Farrell families, all of us are part of this great team."

- Rocco Del Priore '05 | Head Football Coach

Strength In Numbers $15/Month Recurring Gift

$15 Recurring Gift

A $15/month recurring gift from just one-fifth of our 14,000 alumni generates over $1 million through the end of the Strengthen the Legacy Capital Campaign. What seems to be a modest amount can become a significant resource when there is Strength in Numbers.

For the cost of a pizza or a monthly subscription to a streaming service, you can make a meaningful impact on the lives of countless current and future Faithful Men. Every dollar (or every fifteen dollars!) truly makes a monumental impact on the legacy of Monsignor Farrell High School.

Our Plan

Establish a sound and sustainable operational foundation by driving significant enrollment growth and implementing reasonable tuition increases, to be accomplished through investment in the facility, programs, and an endowment fund to support tuition assistance initiatives.

Our Progress

As a result of the Strengthen the Legacy Capital Campaign raising $7 million dollars in cash and pledges, over $4.5 million has already been invested into the facility, technology, and programs in the past three years.

We have constructed all-new,  modern science labs, two award-winning facilities (the Brother Henry S. Wright Learning Commons and the Performance & Wellness Center), as well as the Business and Finance Center equipped with Bloomberg terminals, which was the first of its kind in any Staten Island high school.

Significant increases in enrollment have accompanied the investments, demonstrated by the Classes of 2026 and 2027 which were approximately 25% larger in total than the previous two incoming classes. The Class of 2026 was the largest incoming class in over a decade, and the Class of 2027 was a very close second.  All of this was accomplished while maintaining Monsignor Farrell’s standard of academic excellence.

The combination of higher enrollment and tuition increases has put us on track to significantly “narrow the gap” between the cost of educating each student and tuition charged.

Your Donations at Work

The 5-year, $12 million “Strengthen the Legacy” capital campaign is transforming Monsignor Farrell High School with investments in new technology, facility modernization, endowment building, and scholarship.

“It is a very exciting time here at Monsignor Farrell. The incredible support we have received from our alumni and parent donors has allowed us to make significant investments in our faithful men - the students of Monsignor Farrell High School.”  - Lou Tobacco '90, President

The Brother Henry S. Wright Learning Commons

Awarded for Outstanding Design - Interior Renovation by SchoolDesigns.com

Designed by architect Dave Businelli '83 of Studio 16 Architecture, the 3,600 sq. ft. Brother Henry S. Wright Learning Commons was built in the footprint of the old library and has received numerous awards for its design.

Completed in September 2020, the learning commons offers comfortable furniture for both individual and group study, modular furnishings that allow faculty, staff, and students to customize the environment to suit their needs, access to research networks, SMART Board technology, as well as the NanaWall folding glass partitions that allow the learning commons to be converted into one large space, or broken down into smaller rooms.

The learning commons, named in memory of beloved long-time faculty member Brother Henry S. Wright, is also home to our Writing Studio and Center for Learning and Academic Wellness.

It is also the site for many guest lectures, including our Visiting Professor Lecture Series, conferences, and meetings, both in-person and virtual.

The Performance & Wellness Center

Monsignor Farrell High School officially opened our new Performance & Wellness Center on Friday, April 29th, 2021.
