Introduction to Archery - Session 1

Gym

Wednesday, May 27 2026 from 02:45 PM to 07:45 PM

All Farrell Students are Invited to Learn Archery

We will be holding two introductory sessions for any student who is interested in learning about archery.

Our inaugural 2025-2026 archery team of 18 Farrell Men, ranging from freshmen to seniors (many of whom tried archery for the first time in October 2025), qualified for the New Your State Tournament.

Coach Scafuri and Coach Pizzino will be conducting introductory sessions to provide all Farrell students the opportunity to join in the action and learn about the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP).

These sessions will be held in the Farrell Gym during school.

Students who are interested may attend during gym class on this day or during their lunch period (they will have to miss lunch). The session will be approximately 45 minutes.  Registration is not necessary.

Session 1 | Wednesday, May 27th

Will include instruction on the mandatory safety practices that NASP outlines for this school program.  Students will learn about the bow makeup, the way to determine visual tendency, the 11 steps to a good shot, and the procedures for keeping safe.

Session 2 | Wednesday, June 3rd

We will review the safety steps from session 1.
The students who attended the first session will be allowed to shoot 3 arrows at 10 meters.  Students who only attend this session will be permitted to observe.

Please email Mr. Scafuri or see him during school if you have any questions about archery.
