General Information & Schedule
General Information
Teachers covered the required curriculum for the Regents Exams. As such, we will continue to use the Regents Exams as a final assessment for the year.
Therefore, students may not opt out of taking Regents Exams, as it is their final exam.
-
Beginning on Monday, June 15th, students will only report to school when they have a final exam or a Regents Exam.
-
There is no in-school food service during final exams. Students who are taking two exams in one day may bring lunch.
-
It is imperative that students know when and where to report for exams. Students will receive their final exam/Regents Exam room assignments during school
-
Room assignments for exams will also be posted on the TV boards in school on the day of the exams.
-
Students must report to their assigned rooms 15-20 minutes before the scheduled start time of their exam: Report by 8:00 am for 8:30 am exams and 11:45 am for 12:00 noon exams.
-
Fall/spring uniform for all exams.
-
Students have a maximum of 2 hours to take final exams and are required to stay for a minimum of 1 and 1/2 hours. They have up to 3 hours for Regents Exams and must stay for at least 2 hours.
-
Students are dismissed for the day after their exams.
Final Exam & Regents Exam Schedule
Absences During Exams
If a student is going to be absent for a final and/or Regents Exam:
-
Their parent must call the attendance office before 8:00 am each day the student will be absent. (718) 979-2050
-
A doctor’s note must be e-mailed/faxed (718) 987-4241 to the Attendance Office before the student is allowed to take the exam(s) that he missed. *Failure to take an exam at the designated date and time without a doctor’s note will result in a 20% penalty on the exam(s). This is non-negotiable.
Making Up Missed Exams
-
Students must make up the exam(s) they missed while absent during their first available time slot(s) when they do not have a scheduled exam.
-
Make-up exams will be given in the Learning Commons at 8:30 am and noon.
-
The maximum number of exams a student can make up in one day is two (one in the morning and one in the afternoon).
Hypothetical Example: John was absent on Tuesday and missed his math final exam. He returns to school on Wednesday when he has a science final exam scheduled for 8:30 am. John does not have an exam scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. That becomes his first available time slot to make up the math final exam that he was absent for.
