About Coach Del Priore
Del Priore is only the 6th head coach in Monsignor Farrell football history, taking over for Tony Garofalo '89.
A two-year starter at nose tackle on Ben Sarullo’s defensive line, Del Priore twice helped lead the Lions to the CHSFL championship game in 2003 and 2004, falling short to CHSFL powerhouse St. Anthony’s on both occasions.
Del Priore graduated from Monsignor Farrell in 2005 and earned his bachelor of science degree in physical education from Brooklyn College.
He returned to his alma mater in 2006 as the offensive line coach for the Lion’s freshman team. Since that time, Del Priore has held several positions within the football program, including head coach of both the freshman and junior varsity teams. In 2011, he was elevated to varsity defensive line coach and served as the varsity defensive coordinator from 2015 until he was appointed head coach.
In addition to Del Priore’s duties as the Lion’s defensive coordinator, he has spent countless hours working with youth football leagues on Staten Island, lending his expertise to clinics and camps. He also serves as Monsignor Farrell’s summer football camp director.
Former head coach Tony Garofalo '89, now Director of Athletics, was an assistant on the varsity staff during Del Priore's playing days at Farrell. Del Priore then served alongside Garofalo as assistants on the varsity from 2011 -2014, and then as Garofalo's defensive coordinator.
Del Priore is currently a physical education teacher at New Dorp High School. In addition to his undergraduate degree, he holds a master’s in kinesiology from Brooklyn College.
He and his wife Gabrielle reside in Great Kills with their three children.
