The second Faculty vs. Students sports showdown

The rivalry between the faculty and students always produces memorable matchups. On April 29, the juniors and seniors helped the students strike first with a thrilling 10-9 win in softball.

The next matchup in this year's series, the Faculty vs. Seniors basketball game, will take place on Wednesday, May 15.

Last year’s basketball game saw the faculty take a 46-36 win over the students in a competitive game. The faculty were led by Father Pomeisl, Mr. Baldassano, and Mr. Kennedy. Mr. Baldassano had a clutch performance with consecutive three-pointers to seal the game for the faculty toward the end of the second half.

This year, the stakes are higher than ever. The students look to clinch a series win, as winning both the softball and basketball games can lead to a potential series sweep before the faculty vs. freshmen and sophomores kickball game.

On the other end, the faculty are looking to capture their second straight victory in the basketball game and tie the series heading into the kickball game.

The faculty will look to repeat after winning last year's battle 46-36. They enter, however, after dropping the Faculty vs. Students softball game on April 29.

On May 15, we'll see who wants it more.
