After coming out on top in softball, the students win in basketball, too!

As the seniors said goodbye to Farrell in May, they were given one more round of fun, thanks to the second annual faculty vs. seniors basketball game.

Last year’s contest saw the faculty come on top with a 46-36 victory over the students. In this year’s game the students were looking to strike back and avenge their loss from the previous year -- and that's just what they did.

In the dramatic showdown on May 15th the seniors ended up taking the clash on the court with a 79-67 win.

The game started off close, as while the seniors got off to a hot start, the faculty managed to storm back prior to halftime. After two quarters, the senior lead was just 36-31.

But in the second half, the offense of the Seniors began to explode, while the faculty's shooting went cold. A late rally would not be enough, and the seniors took the win over the faculty.

The seniors were led by great performances from John Driscoll, Kenny Maira, and Joe Sparacio. Driscoll’s great playmaking and passing in particular led the seniors to their victory.

Mr. Acri, Class of 2025 guidance counselor, was a key contributor for the faculty team.

The faculty were led by strong performances from Mr. Kennedy, Mr. Acri, and Father Pomeisl. These performances weren’t enough to capture the win against the students. This breaks Father Pomeisl's unbeaten streak in games against the students.

With this game ending, the students clinch a series win being 2-0 in student vs faculty games this year -- a second year of fun-filled, legendary battles.

Sources say there could be more of these kinds of events planned for the end of next school year. So, keep your eyes and ears out in the future!
