Farrell Players Reap Benefits Following Success of Damn Yankees Spring Musical

Damn Yankees, this year's Spring Musical production from the Farrell Players, was a success!

Every one of our performers put in so much time and work for this amazing show. From Tech week, which includes constant run-throughs of the shows, to remembering lines and choreography. And now, members of the Farrell Players are receiving recognition for their efforts in various ways.

Most recently, on May 2 at the Vir Fidelis Ball, the Farrell men who took part in the show performed "Heart,"  one of the most iconic numbers in the play.

Additionally, two of our Farrell players, Marcello DiMarzio and Zachary Claro, were named finalists for the Roger Reese Awards, which recognize excellence in student performance in high school arts programs throughout the greater New York City area. There is a point system, and the people with the two highest points receive this award.

The Minty Awards are an annual awards ceremony that honors and showcases high school musical theater productions on Staten Island. The ceremony has each participating school perform a seven-minute medley from each participating school’s musical, which is all held at the St. George Theatre. Then, 14 awards are presented, from Outstanding Musical to Leading Actor/Actress awards and more.

This year's Minty Awards take place on June 7, where you can see Damn Yankees compete with the other high school productions.

This production was such an amazing show and an even better experience to be involved in. We would like to thank both Mrs. and Mr. Tierney and our amazing Farrell Players and crew for the effort and hard work put into this performance.

For next year, prepare to take on King Arthur's quest, as the next performance for the Monsignor Farrell players will be Camelot!
