The Lions return nine players from last year's championship team and are led by their senior co-captains, point guard John Driscoll and swingman Kenny Maira.

Seniors Aidan Farmer, Mike Yannaco, Del Bobish, Jack Mallon, Matt Milone, Joe Sparacio, and junior Seth Clarke will also be counted on to make an impact. "We will lean on the guys who are returning from last year to provide leadership and stability on the court as well as to challenge their teammates in what is always a competitive practice environment," noted Head Coach Mike Dunn, who led the Lions to the NY State Federation Championship last season, the first and only federation title won by a Staten Island boys team.

"We also have talented underclassmen who we feel will contribute," he added.

Senior Ed Ruci, juniors Antonio Brittain, Christian Namorato, Michael Sears, Logan Hynes, Gerard Sheehan, and sophomores JJ Yates and Matt Scalisi are all newcomers to the varsity squad. "Our new players have proven that they are up to the challenge and will provide us with the depth we will need throughout the season," Dunn said.

The coach has been impressed with the level of commitment and hard work the team has shown in the offseason and preseason and is excited to see them develop into a cohesive unit. "I like the makeup of our team this year," said Dunn. "We have a team that will continue to improve every day and one that will be able to give different looks along the way. Our guys have seen the level of play needed to be successful, and they remain focused on the goals they have set for themselves," he added.
