An absence must be reported to the Attendance Office by phone each day before 9:00 am unless specified differently. The attendance office phone number is (718) 979-2050.
If an absence is not reported, the student will face disciplinary action upon his return to school. This is to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
Upon a student’s return, a physical, not electronic absence note, signed by a parent or guardian, is to be presented before homeroom (before 8:15 am) to the attendance office. Failure to do so will result in same-day detention.
The absent note must contain the following information:
- Student’s name and homeroom
- Date(s) of absence(s)
- Reason for absence(s)
- Parent signature
